Nothing says cozy like Hanukkah...except for maybe a Scandinavian Christmas. So this year I am collaborating with Sleepy Hollow’s Leaf to mash them up for A VERY HYGGE HANUKKAH!
Hygge—pronounced HOO-geh—is the Danish idea of coziness and togetherness, the feeling you get hanging with your friends by a crackling fire, fuzzy socks on your feet.
And there’s no better way to capture the hygge spirit than through a warm and lush Hanukkah cooking party! This hybrid cooking/eating workshop includes:
Cooking demo on how to prepare a Hanukkah feast that’s flavored and inflected by Scandinavia
Smorgasbord featuring latkes with homemade toppings like gravlax and pickled vegetables, Scandinavian breads and crackers, meatballs with lingonberry sauce, salads, and other delicious seasonal items.
Complimentary beer, mulled wine, and not-boring booze-free drinks— and who knows, perhaps a Hanukkah miracle will make the Aquavit last for eight nights!
The event will be held indoors on Friday, Dec. 10 from 7-9-ish PM in Sleepy Hollow (exact location given after registration). Everyone must show proof of vaccination and masks are optional. Space is limited to 25 guests…so grab your Nordic sweaters and sign up soon!
