About Kate Sonders Solomon

I’m Kate Sonders Solomon, a cooking instructor based in the Rivertowns, nestled along the Hudson River in Westchester. I grew up surrounded by delicious homemade food, but my love for cooking ignited during a transformative year studying in Florence, Italy, where one of the host moms in my program gifted us her patience, time, and love for cooking Italian food. I was enchanted by the community we built in her kitchen over bowls of slow cooked risotto, tiramisu, sauces, and pastas.

Now, I continue the tradition through hands-on cooking classes for all ages. My approach is playful, down-to-earth, and focused on fostering connections in the kitchen. Whether I’m teaching children or adults, I strive to make cooking a joyful and empowering experience, like cooking with a friend.

I’m particularly passionate about all forms of dough—pastas, breads, cakes, and tarts—and love baking and decorating treats for my family. Join me, and let’s create delicious memories together!
